Raised ca125 and symptoms

Hi Eveyone.

i am new to the forum. Just looking for some other stories similar to mine really. I went to the doctor after noticing pain in my lower tummy for quite some time along with regular bloating. I had blood tests done and results came back same day with a raised ca125 of 38 and elevated ESR levels. I am aware the cut off is 35 so 38 doesn’t strike me as drastic but along with other symptoms I am quite worried. The past few days my tummy pains have since carried over to my lower back and I feel constantly nauseous (near enough on the verge of throwing up but never do) however I’m not sure if this is a symptom or from nerves. I have an appointment with gynaecologist for scan 20/08/18.

  • I was wondering what the outcome was with you ? Like you I had hysterectomy 11 years ago , CA125 was 96 then .... recently I have severe pain in lower left abdomen and went to doctor .... CA125 was 94 ... he ran loads of tests and all fine .. 8 weeks on repeated bloods and now CA125 is 86 ... he is referring me to gynaecologist .

  • Hi!

thanks for this, I'm hoping that it's not what they think. I have had my CT etc done, and I've been told that I should get my results for that on Monday. I also had a call from an oncology nurse asking if I'd have someone to look after me if I was to have surgery. So I'm worried that it means it is in fact cancer. I'm not 100% sure yet however and I'm hoping that they can put my mind at ease next week. I hate waiting so I completely understand what you mean. I would be the same in your situation, I will update you after my results come Monday. Here's hoping everything is okay. X

  • I am sure it's all going to fine. Sometime they do ask some simple questions and we over analyze and worry about it.

I will have all my fingers crossed for you

  • Hi every one, my heart goes out to you all.

I was diagnosed with stage 3b grade 3 triple negative breast cancer last October and the it's only juSt hitting me. Up to now I've have a mastectomy with lymph nodes clearence. They found a 6cm Timer and 9 of the lymph nodes they removed were positive for cancer. Since then I've also had a raised level of CA125 blood test. I am worried but because I'm still having chemotherapy I'm praying it will help with the raised level of CA125 and kill what ever is lingering in my body. I have also recently received the news that I have the BRCA1 gene mutations in top of everything else so I will be having preventative surgery which is another mastectomy with lymph nodes clearance and then hysterectomy including the ovaries.

I'm just very lucky to of had my 3year old little girl who gives me the strength to fight against this cancer.I would also love to get to 40years old as I want a huge party but that's another 4 years.

  • Hi.
I am 60 years old and I have been having ongoing issues with pelvic, back pain, spotting, urgency to urinate and more recently extreme tiredness. GP did a full blood count and ca125 which came back raised (not sure by how much) I have an urgent appointment for ultrasound and mentioned possibly biopsy. Just wondering if anyone experienced these symptoms? I am sick with worry.
    thanks

  • Hi I've been told my levels are raised and I'm terrified x

  • Hi I know how you feel. Honestly don't worry. They can be raised for lots of things. Inflammation, infection anywhere in body. Your period, cyst. Anything can. Or just naturally high. If there raised at all they have to check you out. Do you know what number your level was.

  • Back in April or may it was 46, repeated the test Monday this week but I didn't ask what the level was, I'm so scared x

  • Where you on your period. I wouldn't worry. They have to red flag it if it's raised. My number went up to 67. What happen back in April. Did they scan you
