Dimple in breast and gp found lump

Hi I have noticed for last few weeks a change in shape at the bottome of my left brest it has dimple id say a inch long when i lift my arm however i do have implants and i assumed it could be that so didnt worry to much however the more i noticed the more I thought about getting checked and booked a GP appointment I went and she immedietly said she could feel a lump and has refferd me for the 14 day cancer track. I am 33 and feeling worried as I had not realised myself there was a lump. Can anyone also advise on the next stages. I only saw the GP yesterday. Thank you.

  • I am so happy to have helped give you a bit of positivity. I have everything crossed for good news for you and fill your bank holiday with fun things to distract yourself. Thank you so much for your well wishes, it’s been such a comfort to read stories like yours and hear from people who can totally relate to what your going through while waiting for these appointments xx

  • Sorry only just seen your post I am so pleased yours was good news, it does take a while for it to sink in because you still go through every emotion going. Took me a good few weeks to get my head round it x

  • Hi. I’m in a very similar situation to what your in with regards to dimpling, lump and pain towards to top. I was wondering how you have got on and if everything is okay?

I really hope everything went well xx

  • Hi,

I was just wondering how you got on and what your results were .

my experience is almost identical to yours described above and I had core biopsy yday and am just worrying now.

i hope this finds you well. Thanks Vikki x

  • Hi Vikki

i hope you are ok...it's a truly scary time waiting for the results, but I am here to tell the tale...I was diagnosed with a grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma ER8 PR8 HER2 negative (these letters and numbers are high oestrogen and progesterone which drove the tumour and the HER2 negative was a good thing) it was 14mm which is about the size of a thumb nail...I have small breasts and was surprised it wasn't palpable to touch. I had a lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed which were all negative. I had 15 days of radiotherapy and I'm taking Tamoxifen for 5 years....I wish I could have said it turned out to be nothing - and it was very surreal going through it...but I'm healthy with a good prognosis so feel very lucky...I hope yours is nothing to worry about - it's good you went to get it checked out, mine was caught early and some friends said they wouldn't have gone for just a little dimple. Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Helen x

  • Thank you for replying, I'm glad to hear that your prognosis is positive after treatment.

fingers crossed if I don't get the all clear  that it has been caught early also ...just hoping for quick results at the moment, patience not my strong point and the not knowing is difficult.thanks again for you reply and wish you all the best for your recovery x

  • Hi just wondering how you are now? I've got puckering in my my breast and doctor found a lump. Now waiting on my appointment for mammogram etc. Hoping you are doing well now.

  • Hi just wondering if you had your appointment yet? I noticed a strange line of vertical dimpling on my breast and the GP referred me. She couldn't find a lump but she thought she felt a thickening of the skin. I have my appointment through for 2nd September and it feels such a long way off. The waiting seems to be awful for everyone so trying to keep busy and not think too much about it.

  • Hi there. Yes I had a mammogram and US last week and this week I had 8 biopsies taken from 2 areas. Mammograms and US came back inconclusive but consultant saw a couple of areas of concern. Just waiting on results now. Hopefully get them back in a week or so but like you trying to keep busy and not think too much about it.  It's hard not to get all worked up though! Good luck with your appointments and keep me posted.

  • Thanks for replying That's good that you were seen so quickly. I hope your biopsies are all ok and you hear soon. I'll keep you posted too.
