Ultrasound results

Hi I had an ultrasound on Monday the 16th and I rang my doctors this morning to see if they had the results and they have the ultrasound back but no comment from the doctor as of yet. I went to my doctors yesterday anyway and I asked her how long she thinks it would take to come back and she said if it was anything urgent it would of been yesterday or today (18th) and it’s come back today! I’ve been worrying as it is anyway because I’ve had a lump inside my vagina for around 3 months (that I’ve noticed) and been spotting between periods and had pelvic pain, back pain, headaches, nausea and extreme fatigue and difficulty urinating. So I’m really worried! Does anyone know whether they will ring me today or am I still going to have to wait even thought the results are there?? Thank you for reading.

    Hi Rikileigh96. Welcome to the forum. 

    I am not a doctor and I have no medical qualifications.

    I wouldn't necessary expect a long delay on any ultrasound report. There can be a bigger backlog on MRI or CT scans, and biopsy results can take a couple of weeks. 

    To me, it seems reasonable to have the scan, the report get written the next day, and then sent electronically to the doctor, all within a 48 hour window.  

    I know it's natural to be scared, but when it comes to test and scan results, you normally can't read any significance into how long it took to get the results back. So, there's no need to be alarmed that they're back today.

    HI l had ultrasound scan on saturday 08 june 2019 my apoitment was on X- Ray medical imaging leighton hospital crewe and until now l didnt get the result yet l dont know what wrong with me

    Hi jolana. Welcome to the forum.

    If your GP ordered the scan then it's quite likely the results are back with your GP by now.  Even if the scan was ordered by someone else, it is still possible that your GP can now access the results using the practice computer system.  I suggest you contact your GP surgery and ask whether these results are now back.

    Hi I got told 3 months ago I had fibroids I got examined by a gynae a few months back and got told my neck of the womb was bleeding and that he wanted me to go get another ultra sound to see if the fibroids had grown and why the neck of the womb was bleeding the person who did the ultrasound said they couldn't see a cause to why it's bleeding and told me that my fibroids hadn't grown much bigger this was around 5 weeks ago I've still not had the results my doctor said she don't mind seeing a letter but I got a letter to see the gynae on the 12th of sept instead of the 26th should I be worried or am I being a drama
