Waiting for biopsy results - Uterine Cancer

I have just started the agonising wait for results. Had a hysteroscopy on Saturday and was told it should be 2 weeks. I am quite a strong person but this is going to be hard. Of course I know that it could be fine but I went to my GP in January and it is now April. Even if the results are clear I still have to have all the polyps removed under a 'general'.

  • I had a biopsy three weeks ago today (still nervously waiting for the results) and also the merena coil fitted whilst I was there.  I too was in absolute agony even though I told him three times beforehand that I was nervous as my smear test a few months back was excruciatingly painful (cervix had tilted slightly).  He just said I would be ok, certainly not the case.  I nearly fainted due to the severity of the pain (they didn’t give me anything whatsoever for the pain)! Still got pain which my GP says it’s down to the procedure and not having any children.

  • I had one on Monday awake, the consultant wasn’t that happy I was not having a general . The booking clerk mistakenly gave me the option and as it was sooner I had a local . It was absolute agony, I actually screamed out loud a few times ! I have had three babies and it was worse than that . The bit where he took the biospy was awful plus I was aware not to move to much as I didn’t want a perforation to happen .

worrying about my results now as the consultant adviced me there and then to have the coil as my uterus was so thick !!

  • had hysteroscopy and D&C yesterday under GA, pain kicked in early morning. Very sore. Can’t believe you had to suffer like that. Get results in 3 weeks. Fingers crossed for all of us still waiting. I was told no heavy lifting.

  • I had the same as you jan55 on Friday 10th May with cervix biopsy and Mirena fitted too. Feeling exhausted today and a bit sore. I’m not going back to see consultant for 5 weeks!!! It seems a long time to wait. How you feeling now?

  • Still having cramps and tired, think I was doing too much. Discharge worse today but seemingly can last for up to 2 weeks?

Hope you feel better soon, will let you know results on 29th.5 weeks is a long wait. Just try and stay positive and enjoy this lovely weather.

  • I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you and everyone else who is waiting for results.

  • Thank you x

  • I had hysteroscopy done yesterday and had two biopsy’s taken cause she didn’t think she had enough, omg I can tolerate quiet abit of pain but that was horrendous I was doing abit of shouting she said if  they needed more tissue samples they have to it under general anaesthetic next time, my husband doesn’t seem to no wat all the fuss about like I’ve had a stroll in the park and I’ve graised  my knee, I’ve cried non stop since yesterday because I think I’m over reacting about it as well maybe it’s just shock...

  • Sorry to hear of your horrendous experience, I had mine done under GA.

Hope you feel better soon. Men don’t understand.

fingers crossed for the best result.

    Sending a hug. x

  • Thank you jan55 that was nice of you to reply x
