Worried about a lump found on my chest

Good evening (or night!)

I came across this small circular lump on my upper chest a few weeks ago now (Maybe 4 weeks?) and I’m worried it could be something more than ‘just a lump’ It’s tirm to touch a little bit painful.

The reason why I’m worried is due to the last four weeks I’ve been having night sweats. I’ve been walking up absolutely sodden. My bed is absolutely drenched, my body is all damp and clammy. My head and hair just soaking wet. I’m freezing cold due to being wet and I keep my heating off during the night. I have to dry myself with a towel and then go sleep on my sofa.

My other issue is my head feels weird. I don’t know how else to explain it than when you just generally feel ill and your head kinda pulses - it’s that sensation throughout the day and night, non stop.

I’m constantly fatigued. I just haven’t the energy for anthing and I’ve become unaware of my surroundings and clumsy too. For example, I crashed my car into a parked van the other morning because I didn’t see it - even though I was right there in front of me. Albeit nothing serious as I was going 5mph but my car is now undriveable as the entire front drivers side has smashed in!

if I touch this lump, squeeze it a little, it sends even more or that pulsing feeling to my head and a little around my body too.

since Christmas I’ve had a really bad cough which cleared up last week and I also had a bit of an ear infection over Christmas which has also cleared up.

I am booked in to see my GP on Monday 15th January. But I was hoping someone could tell me what their thoughts are? Probably jumping to conclusions, but this has gotten me worried.

23 year old male.

  • Hi 232

Welcome to the forum.  Any worries you are having can really only be dealt with by popping along to your doctor as a picture cannot lead to diagnosis. You can also call the nurses on this forum during normal office hours on 0808 800 4040 if you need to talk about this.  There are so many different causes of skin blemishes/lumps and hopefully there will be nothing to worry about but getting anything unusual checked out is very sensible.  All the best.  Jules54

  • Hi.  I can only agree with jules but am writing to say that the moderators will remove your photo as it is not allowed to post them.  Don't feel too bad about it; I had been here for a few days before I read all the rules governing the forum!  Hope you see your GP soon and that all is well.

  • I'm not a doctor and therefore not at all qualified medically.  Reading your story, I'm concerned that this is caused by some infection and you might need antibiotics urgently. I think you need to see a doctor sooner rather than later, and before monday. But I must emphasize I'm not a doctor, so this is little more than a guess.

You could try phoning 111, or speaking to a pharmacist, or phoning your GP reception to ask if they have  a cancellation or can fit you in earlier.
