Hi Willow76,

Have you had the results of the biopsies yet? If not, you will probably get them then. Your surgeon is likely to tell you a little about your type of cancer and will then discuss the way forward for treatment and surgery. There is no set pattern for this. Some types of cancer are more aggressive than others and it will also depend upon the stage of the cancer. Naturally, the more aggressive it is the more intensive the treatment may need to be.

We usually feel better in ourselves, once we have a definite plan for the way forward, leaving that awful spell of "the unknown" behind us. I do hope that all goes well for you.

Hi Willow76, Jolamine is spot on.  The only thing I would say is, take someone with you.  I forgot half of what was said and my husband remembered a lot more.  Some people ask permission to record the interview just so you have everything.  I didn't do this as didn't know.  I know I felt better when I found out my treatment plan.  When is your appointment?

Thank you so much Jolamine, I have been told the biopsies show cancer but nothing more as yet.  I do think I will feel better once this waiting is over as my mind is absolutely racing with 'what ifs'.

Thank you so much for replying.  My partner is going with me, he asked me if I thiugh we could record the appointment as he is worried he won't take it all in either! I'm hoping that between us we will manage to take it in.  I'm just really scared what they will tell me but also want to know so I can get started with it all....its a very surreal feeling.

Hi you could ask the surgeon if it is okay to record.  I was told I would have lumpectomy, chemo and then radiotherapy.  It is scary not knowing but I did feel better afterwards and just wanted to get on with it to get the cancer out.  Good luck for Thursday.  Let us know how you get on.
