Just an update regarding my mum. The breast clinic rang her this morning and said her biopsy results came back as benign and that they were cysts, which is obviously a relief. But she has to go back next Tuesday for further investigations. The nurse said there’s nothing to worry about, but I’m still feeling a bit anxious and wondering why she would need further testing if the biopsy results were benign. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I am delighted to hear that your Mum's biopsy results were benign cysts and understand what a relief this is. Did the nurse say what further investigations were needed or what tests they intended to carry out? It is impossible to surmise why they want to see her again next Tuesday. Thank you. No the nurse didn’t say what tests she needed but she did say not to worry as she has already been a few times. But the nurse at her call back appointment did say she will need to come back once she’s got the biopsy results for another mammogram so maybe that’s why she needs to go back. 

Here's hoping that this is for another mammogram to check that all is ok, now that the cysts have been drained.
