Stupid and worried

I noticed a lump in my right breast in October 25 whilst I was on holiday.  I'm a  bury your head in the sand kind of person.  i don't want to say it disappeared as I don't know.  I do know over the last couple of weeks it has become more noticeable and I finally plucked up the courage to go to the doctor.

Sent for 2ww on Wednesday.  2cm lump in right breast, fixed, firm and round, he also found a 1mm lump in left breast

I don't have an appointment until 01/09 and now I am absolutely petrified and convinced I have cancer and also kicking myself that I left it this long.

I niw am thinking about all my peri menopausal symptoms I've had for 2 years and wondering if they're related.  I'm now thinking and feeling pains that I didn't notice before. Suddenly my breast feels different, is this my anxiety or stuff that I have been taking no notice of and now I'm hyper aware.

What a mess!

  • Hi Cazz,

I just want to reassure you that the way you are feeling is perfectly normal. You will probably find that most of these new pains will disappear once you know whether or not, there is any cancer present. Most of us find that we are hyper aware of every minor change at this stage, but most turn out to be nothing serious.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Such an anxious time. I hope you get some answers & reassurance soon. I have womb cancer but recently found a hard fixed lump in each breast. Was seen in the breast clinic and turned out to be harmless fatty nodules. I really hope it’s the same for you! All the best xx
