Hi,
I am new to the group and just wanted to introduce myself and share a bit about the position I’m in at the moment. I went to the breast clinic on Wednesday 22nd July after an urgent referral from my gp. Long story short, I was here for around 3.5 hours and received a scan, 2 mammograms and a biopsy from 3 areas (with a marker inserted). I was then called back into the consultant who told me she was very sorry and they are highly concerned and have very high suspicions of malignancy. I broke down as I was on my own and not expecting this. I am a manager of a care home and I had planned to go straight into interviews after the appointment (which didn’t happen). I was then took into a side room with the BCN who again told me she was really sorry and asked about my medical history and who was at home with me. My in person appointment is arranged for next Thursday 30th July. I have not been back into work since then as the shock just completely floored me and I’ve not been sleeping. I was given an allocated BCN and support groups. I’m in turmoil. From peoples experiences, does it sound like they already know? Biopsies should be back for next Thursday. Everyone is telling me to stay positive, which in a way I am (with wee wobble moments) but I would rather prepare myself for hearing the C word next week so it doesn’t floor me all over again. Any support would be appreciated. Thank you. Lori
