Hi,
I have been bleeding consistently for 21 months which kept being dismissed as just being due to the contraceptive injection. After being fed up of all the bleeding, I moved to the pill 2.5 months ago. I was told if it doesn’t stop in a month, I’d need a scan. It didn’t stop, and I also started having really bad abdominal pain so I called exactly 28 days after starting the pill.
I went for a scan that found my endometrium distended to 29mm due to a heterogenous, sinister, hypervascular lesion. I’m 34 and premenopausal. My doctor referred me for the 2ww urgent cancer pathway. Had an appointment booked by the hospital exactly 2 weeks from the date of my referral. Turned up to the appt and they had changed it for a further 4 weeks time, and had stepped me down from the 2WW pathway because “I don’t meet the criteria”. Basically, they made this decision because I’m 34 and premenopausal, but have completely ignored the highly concerning findings in my ultrasound report.
I’m trying to fight the step down, but my GP won’t get involved any further, the hospital are saying the decision would have been made considering everything and I even tried to go private but that came to a dead end.
I’m incredibly stressed about the possibility of have endometrial cancer, especially when my partner and I haven’t had children yet. I feel let down, like the NHS don’t care because this cancer in someone premenoupausal is rare - yet not impossible, especially given my ultrasound findings and long term symptoms.
I just don’t know what else to do. My appointment is another 2.5 weeks away and then the biopsy results will take 6 weeks and I honestly don’t think I can go through another 8.5 weeks in the state I’m in. Just looking for anything anyone can say because I’m trying not to stress my family or partner out, but I really am just stuck
