Post Menopausal Bleeding

Hi

Last night (Friday) I had some light brown discharge.  There is also slightly brighter brown/red when I insert my finger into my vagina (apologies if TMI!) but no further discharge as yet.  I’m 55 years old and it’s been over 3 years since my last period.  I’m terrified it’s cancer.  I spoke to the 111 service and she recommended I get a BV test kit, which indicated trichomoniasis which as I’ve not been sexually active suggests it’s not the most accurate result.  I will phone my GP on Monday but I’m already seeing a psychologist for health anxiety so this is my nightmare come true.

I live on my own, I don’t have anyone I can talk to (friends were never really my thing!) and my family have passed away over the last few years so I’m very isolated.  I just thought it might be helpful to reach out via this forum for connection.

    Hi Cat cat. Glad you are chilling and enjoying being away. Im currently in Norfolk for a few days ive been driving and walking, but sleeping very well x

    • Maebelle thats good news. A move can be refreshing and a new start. I hope it goes well. My recovery has been really good I seriously thought the worst being older. Im lucky x

    Hi , that’s great that they were able to reinstate the thread .

    Hope you are doing ok Maebelle . Do you have a date set for your house move ?

    I am still waiting on my biopsy results . I did phone my GP earlier today to get an appointment and they confirmed they haven’t received any results from the hospital . I am still in my 3rd of 4 week wait . 

    Dollysocks , the Kielder forest area is very remote and has lots of camping sites and outside activities . I stayed in a holiday cottage . It is a dark sky area ( but too cloudy when I was there ) so can see amazing skies . There is also an observatory , but do need to book up in advance and tickets aren’t cheap at almost £50 . I didn’t manage to go when I was there . 

    Have only been to Whitley Bay for the day . It had a nice beach and cafes for lunch etc . Other lovely beaches areas are Beadnell , Bamburgh and Alnwick for the beautiful gardens and the castle where some  of the Harry Potter film scenes were shot. I think if you are only there for a few days you may have to choose between beach / countryside .

    Very pleased they reinstated the thread - I got confused!


    I’m so pleased that you’ve both managed to have a well deserved break - Norfolk is beautiful and I find the countryside so healing.  Your recovery Dollysocks has been so impressive and not due to luck - you have shown great strength to get through this.

    Any news re your biopsy results Cat-Cat - I’m thinking you’re nearly at the 4 week mark?

    My offer was accepted, which is brilliant.  This will be a massive move for me - from Cornwall to Yorkshire on my own but I think it’s the right thing for me.  Although I’m a tad apprehensive! xx

    So sorry Cat-Cat that you haven’t had results yet - it must be so difficult for you.  Is the GP going to chase or do they have to wait for the 4 week cut off? xx
