Colposcopy booked at smear - spot on cervix

Hey everyone!

I’ve been reading your posts and had to mention my situation as I can’t find any similar posts.

so basically I had a gynae appointment last week about my gynae issues, the dr said I was due a smear and asked if I’d have it there and then ( of course I did) I’ve previously had CN3 and letz treatment so I know they are super important.

While I was having my smear the doctor changed tone and looked really serious and I asked what was wrong, she told me I had a suspicious spot on my cervix and I needed an urgent colposcopy for a biopsy, also having a camera up and bloods and ultra sound. I’m really worried that I have C, has anyone had anything similar to this? I’m 37 and have 2 children.

I have my appointment on Saturday

thanks so much ladies and sending love and support to everyone going through this or is going through it, it’s tough

  • Hello ChelseyC88,

I wanted to wish you the best of luck for your appointment on Saturday. I hope that it all goes well for you. There is information on our website on the colposcopy which I hope you will find useful ahead of your appointment and if there is anything you would like to discuss with our nurses, don't hesitate to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

It must have been quite stressful for you to find out about this suspicious spot on your cervix while you were having your smear but try if you can not to anticipate what it might be as there could be many other conditions which might have caused this spot on your cervix. I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern and while you are waiting to find out more, I thought I would share with you our helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

Other members of our community may have been through something similar before and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
