Confused over treatment for actinic keratosis

Hi everyone

I've been diagnosed with a 'grade 1' actinic keratosis on the bridge of my nose, which the GP said she'd treat if I was keen. I didn't know what the diagnosis meant to begin with but  after going back and saying I'd prefer to treat the problem  I've been given 'Tolak' which seems to be like efudix but not as strong ( the GP said efudix has been discontinued).  I'd appreciate anyone's experience on the following queries.

Has anyone used tolak and is it as  effective as efudix in people's experience?

The GP told me to put the cream on at night and wash off in the morning, use sunscreen and it would be fine to go to work (I work outdoors as a countryside ranger and told her this). However, the instructions say to avoid UV light for the duration of the treatment so I'm not sure whether it might be better to go back and ask for the one-off freezing treatment. Are the advice of hats and sunscreen sufficient when using the cream?

Thanks!
