Breast clinic appointment - have received a letter for a follow up with a consultant. Is this normal when all tests were clear?

Hi all, 

I attended the breast clinic in the last few weeks as I have a puckered area on my right breast. The doctor could feel a thickened area on examination, but my mammogram and ultrasound were all clear so I was discharged

I have received a letter today for breast clinic follow up with the consultant. Is it normal to be followed up when all test were previously clear at the one stop clinic?

     I am delighted to hear that all of your tests were clear.

    As our Moderator Ben has said, it is normal procedure for almost all people who attend the breast clinic to see the consultant within 1-2 weeks after their initial appointment, to discuss the findings. When your results are returned to the clinic, they are discussed at a multidisciplinary team meeting (MDT), by all of the medical professionals who might have been involved in your care and a consensus is reached on the best way forward. They may have discussed your symptoms and decided on a cause or a possible treatment, which you will find helpful.

    I hope that you don't have to wait too long for your appointment and aall goes well.
