Ca125 at 80, large lump in lower abdominal area

After eventually getting to speak to a doctor about a large lump I have, along with menopausal like symptoms and the occasional tenderness I have had loads of stuff thrown at me from ovarian cancer, fibroid to a cyst I was  rushed through ultrasound scan for the scanner to tell me she can’t see left ovary, and that I will need a ct or mri . I am absolutely terrified being a single parent with no family support any advice grateful

  • Hi catarina12008,

I can imagine this is a terrifying time for you and being a single parent with no family support makes it all the harder. I hope that you have good friends around you though to help you get through this tough time. The wait and the uncertainty that goes with it can be the hardest thing and I hope that it won't be too long now until you get some definite answers.

You did the right thing talking to a doctor about the large lump you have as any lump needs to be checked and investigated. It's hard for now to know what it might be and try if you can not to anticipate the worst as there are so many things it could be other than cancer. The CT scan or MRI scan will shed some light on what is going on and what might be causing these symptoms and this lump. I am keeping everything crossed for you that you get to have the scan very soon and some definite answers and that it all turns out to be nothing concerning.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have been in a similar place before and that they will be happy to share their own experiences of waiting for further tests and results after experiencing similar issues and symptoms.

    Best wishes,
