Oh no that's awful this happened to you and it definitely should not have happened! Well done for chasing them for an update or it might have taken a long time to realise that the referral had not been made. I think your story just shows how important it is to speak up when we suspect something is missing or a mistake has been made.

At least it's been done now and hopefully you won't have to wait too long now to be seen. 

I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all goes well and that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

thanks for your reply. It's been upsetting to realise if I had not chased, my referral would not have happened. I now have an appt on 23rd Dec right before xmas! this is 29 days after referral, should have happened over a month. The stress of waiting and GP errors on referral has not helped. Hospital said if's a breach if we do not do it by end of Dec but that breach would be not from 24 Nov but 9 Dec when I realised GP had not referred. My GP ordered FIT test over a month ago was a score of 18 , FIT done 16 days after bleeding from internal pile. I also had some other symptoms some resolved some intermittent after being prescribed proton pump inhibitor which that course finished 2-3 weeks ago. Had bloods tests eg renal liver FBC c serum crp etc- all came back normal but its still worrying esp before xmas and my first xmas without my son as he abroad. Anyway im sure a lot more people in worse situation than me right now. Just trying to control worrying. I may not have anyone to accompany me so have discussed and lady from hospital said I can have fentanyl and gas and air only if I am alone, i hope this will be enough. Ive not had a colonoscopy before. The drug fentanyl is a bit scary as i know its an illegal drug used by people in America. Anyway thanks and sorry for worrying
