Waiting for breast clinic appointment

Hi all,

This is my first post but many of the other posts have been so informative, thank you. I found a lump in my left breast and have my breast clinic appointment on Friday.

I'm 43 but have never had a cyst or any kind of lump before so am in such a state of worry and panic. My lump is about the size of a grape and feels like that shape. It feels like I can move it and I have no other breast changes. However the lump feels quite hard and it's tender/painful when I have touched it which worries me.

I've lost countless nights sleep xx

  • Welcome to the forum Sarah1872 although I'm sorry to hear about the lump you found in your left breast.

As you've discovered from looking at other posts on the forum, our members know how scary and daunting being in this position can be, so you are not alone Sarah, and hopefully some of them will stop by soon to offer their support and advice.

I'm glad you don't have to wait too much longer for your appointment but if you find yourself getting more nervous as the time draws near, then I hope this advice I've found on managing anxiety will help to steady your nerves whilst you wait.

I hope this webpage about what will happen at your breast clinic appointment will help you feel more prepared for your appointment as well.

We're wishing you all the best for Friday Sarah and hope you have a good outcome.

If you have any questions before or after your appointment our team of cancer nurses are just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
