Suspicious Skin Lesion

Hi,

I recently had a suspicious skin lesion removed from my arm. It started as a small pinkish sun spot which I had for many years with no problems. In July this year, it started to bleed slightly, then scabbed over. The scab fell off, then another scab grew.

Dermatology removed the lesion and surrounding margins recently.

I have not had any results back yet, this was only done 4 days ago.

It has been very worrying, and the waiting is awful...

  • Hi DJ

The waiting is the worst aspect in all this, more so than the actual treatments. The results can take 2 to 6 weeks to be reported depending on which hospital you attend and how busy the labs are. Meanwhile get on with living and enjoying your normal life the odds are stacked in your favour of clear margins.

  • Thank you for your reply, I'm having good days and bad days... today is a bad day as I'm starting to think about what if!....

The surgical procedure was awful, I'm a wuss!... my arm is still sore, and the thought of them having to go in again horrifies me!...

Its nice to know there are others out there who understand...

My family and work have been supportive, but it's OK for them to say don't worry!...

    Thank you for replying...
