Multiple lymph nodes on neck and other worrying symptoms

Hi all,

in March I found my first lymph node in my neck on the right side and left it a while to see if it would go down. Then in April I found a second. By may they were still there so I decided to book in with the GP. They did bloods which the only abnormalities were: Low ferritin of 3, low platelets of around 120 and then my HB was marginally low at 115. A month later I got to discuss these results over the phone and was prescribed iron tablets. A month later I got to see the GP in person and she felt the lumps (and found an extra) and referred me on a 2WW to haematology as I also had night sweats (not drenching), crazy fatigue and SOB.

I’ve just received a text saying I will be getting a Phonecall appointment in 2 weeks time which I’m confused by as they can’t feel my lumps and I haven’t had an ultrasound or repeat bloods?
also I’ve noticed that I’ve been developing petichae on my legs and I’m covered in bruises and bruise so easily. My fatigue is also getting so much worse and I’m having more dizzy spells and nausea. I’m also getting increased itchiness which I’m needing to take anti histamines for as my whole body gets super itchy (including my earlobes and fingers!)

any advice would be very welcomed. Thanks xx

  • Hello TimelyLettuce and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms and for the confusion that has arisen from being given a telephone appointment instead of being seen in person.

I'm not sure if you've seen the reply you received from our nurses on your other thread, but it may be worth getting in touch with the hospital that have given you this appointment to find out more.

Hopefully some of our members who have had the same thing happen to them will share their experiences and advice with you soon but in the meantime, don't hesitate to get in touch with your doctor again if you've noticed your symptoms have got worse.

We're sending you all our support TimelyLettuce and will have our fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
