Breast ultrasound - sonographer said everything looked ok but now I have an appointment with the breast surgery team. Is this normal?

I recently found a lump in my left breast, went to the doctors she felt it and referred me to the breast clinic.

They did an ultrasound and the sonographer said all looked well said well done for coming keep checking breast and if I find anything else go back to the doctors.

This morning I received a letter from the hospital with an appointment for 11 days with the breast surgery team is this normal procedure im panicking as the sonographer said everything was okay.

ring the hospital and ask if this is a routine foloow up appointment or do you need to bring someone with you? If they say bring someone that will indicate they have news they dont want you to be on your own for. I'm not going to say try not to worry because I know, being in the same boat about a lump in my neck and being told at ultra sound it didnt look like anything and now called in for a 'face to face only' chat, its impossible to not be totally petrified. x
