It's unlikely to be. I mean it's POSSIBLE but there are loads of things it could be and cancer is one of the less likely. Hemorrhoids are probably the most likely or a fissure. Then there are polyps, infections, IBD...
You should go to the doctor, just in case. I know it's frightening but really the odds are strongly against cancer especially if it's only happened a few times and the odds are you'll get reassurance that it is something much less serious. And worst case scenario (which is probably like a 5% chance or less), the sooner they find it, the less serious it will be.
Bright red blood following bowel movement has many different causes.. constipation can cause a slight tear round the sphincter as do hemorrhoids. Keeping well hydrated will reduce any strain to pass motion. As for having a male Dr.. is there a female or ANP at the practice you could see.. don't let embarrassment stop you getting advice and care
