Positive FIT & referral

Hi all,

I was hoping someone could share some information or experiences. I originally went to my dr as I thought I felt a lump, long story short they thought it was my gallbladder then after fit tests that came back high and abnormal.

Now im in the 2 week pathway and was expecting to get a letter for an appointment but I received a text that I am first getting a phone call can anyone explain why? I also had to fill out forms and one option was asking me what operation I was having.

Im confused and don't know what to expect. Ive had tummy problems for a while but they were getting worse, bad toilet moments, a lot of pains and bloating, etc basicly all cancer symptoms minus massive weight loss although I have lost some. 

Im only 32 and have 2 small boys, and the waiting and not understanding what is happening next is setting my brain in overdrive but trying to look cool calm and collected to the small few I have told.

    Im new on here so just read your post. I am going through something similar to you and wondered how you were getting on? I’m on the Bowel Screening Programme with positive results. I have a phone appointment this Thursday at 8.30am. I am petrified that it’s bowel cancer as all the symptoms are pointing to this. But I do also understand that it could be IBD which is bad enough. I was diagnosed with IBS many years ago and have been trying to tell the medical professionals that something else was going on but no one would listen! Dread having to go for a colonoscopy as they are always so painful even with sedation. Just need to know what’s wrong so I can get my head round it. I’ve got so many other health problems including being deaf, so all this is causing me so much anxiety. Send positive thoughts to everyone x

    Hey, sorry for the slow reply, this is me too, I had the phone call and had to go over everything again which was frustrating only to then wait 2 weeks for an appointment to go in but not even for the procedure but to meet with a nurse to go over everything and the prep, it's been very frustrating and also adding to my anxiety. Sorry your also going through this, I will update once I have been in for what now is like the 3rd appointment before getting to anything, what frustrating me is because im 32 there not rushing it, I hope your seen quickly so you dont have to sit on your fears im sure all will be OK x
