Tiny hard lump in breast, not moving

Hi, I'm hoping someone who has had a similar experience might see this and offer some reassurance.

I'm 32 years old and last night I found a tiny (smaller than a pea), hard lump in my right breast, to the right of my nipple. It feels like it's deep inside and I don't think it moves when I try to.

I've got an appointment with an emergency NP today at my surgery but I know she probably won't be able to say what it is and I'll need to wait for another appointment.

I'm just really nervous, I've got an 11 month old baby and I'm terrified of the worst. I can't stop worrying and I don't feel like I can tell anyone as I don't want anyone else to worry.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Buttercup92,

It’s completely understandable to feel worried after noticing something new and unexpected, especially with so much already on your plate. You’ve done the right thing by booking the appointment, and it’s good to hear you’re being seen quickly.

You’ll find many people who’ve been through the process of noticing changes and waiting for checks. It can feel very heavy to carry the worry on your own, please know this space is here for you, and you’re not alone.

If you’d like to talk things through with someone, our nurses are available on 0808 800 4040. They’re here Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and always happy to listen.

Wishing you gentle moments today and in the days ahead.

    Best wishes,
