Positive fit test and calprotectin level 286

I have been feeling really fatigued for months then recently been ill with sickness with bits of blood in it, twice this has happened.I had the runs not long since dr asked for some stool samples sending off.I have nausea everyday and struggle to eat a full plate of food, I have a feeling of food stuck in my throat on a daily basis.Waiting for a telephone call for my 2ww referral.

I keep googling my symptoms and I am so scared I have cancer

  • Agreed everyone says it’s the not knowing that’s hardest. I haven’t been able to find out if samples take as long when also considering IBD developing alongside cancer still as a possibility.
& have chased as much as I can- now literally waiting to be contacted over what has or hasn’t shown in these 2 colon biopsies.

it wasn’t explained either why at 1 stage I found the colonoscopy rather uncomfortable- apparently I tolerated it well. That was regarding sigmoid loops they weren’t able to sort- so either way we are expecting some kind of surgery will be necessary-  but of course no one has said a thing.

hopefully you are told more clearly after your endoscopy what’s found & what to expect waiting wise- think I was more affected by sedation than I realised as went away thinking all was ok!!!

  • Really thought you would hear by now.
So after the colonoscopy they don’t tell you if they think it could be cancer

  • Usually you are told before leaving. I suspect I was so drowsy from sedative that I missed something

the consultants secretaries are back so either mon/Tuesday or I’ll hear from the other on weds/thurs.

have seen others have had to find out from gp yet the emails back have specifically said my reports will be sent to the consultant & NOT my gp.

its seems very odd & don’t panic, you’ll know when you leave, whether you’ll need to worry or not.
fingers crossed your experience is ok & you know more of what’s ahead that same day.

its very strange I’ve not been requested for any other scans whilst they await the biopsy results- it seems THAT is the norm when they suspect cancer in biopsy samples.

can you tell I’m still screwing & also that stress certainly doesn’t help with how our bodies are already reacting trying to continue functioning normally!

    Love C Xx
