I have Mucinous adenocarcinoma of GI origin this has come from my ovary.
Ive had CRS ( CC0 ) and HIPEC at a Peritoneal Malignancy Unit and have had LAR of rectum, removal of omentum and peritoneum, ovaries tubes, uterus appendix, tumour.
About to start chemo on 28/01 6 cycles of Carboplatin & Pacitaxol.
Had a CT scan and 3 spots showed up on liver.
These were on my first CT scan and attributed to being haemangiomas.
My consultant radiologist has asked for MRI to determine if they are haemangiomas. I think she is concerned that they may be metastases from my ovarian cancer.
I am worried sick.
I was told no cancer was found in my upper abdomen area and my liver and spleen where clear as was my colon.
There were no spread to any lymph nodes in my abdomen.
My PCI was 13
I've just had all my Tumour markers done again as a baseline before chemo. They are all normal. They include CA 125, CEA, CA19.
COULD LIVER METS BE MISDISGNOSED AS HAEMANGIOMAS?
DOES THIS EVER HAPPEN?
