8cm Complex Ovarian Cyst with CA125 of 51 - Absolutely terrified!!

I posted on here a few days ago after I found out unexpectedly that I had a large complex ovarian cyst. The consultant thinks it could a dermoid cyst but can't determine this for sure and is sending me for an MRI scan. In the meantime, my CA125 has come back raised at 51!!! I'm postmenopausal which just adds even more risk into the mix and I just feel like the odds are stacking up against me. I've had no symptoms and only got checked out because of a tiny amount of postmenopausal bleeding. I'm all over the place.

  • Hello everyone!

Just wanted to give you the update. Last Friday I was told that the conclusion of my MDT meeting is that believe my mass is suspicious and is either ovarian cancer or cancer from the appendix which I've never heard of.

Initially, I felt relieved to finally hear what they thought. Relief quickly turned to fear and brokenness over the whole situation. It's almost been a weak and I'm trying to do all the things I can control. Eat well, remain positive and pray! I'm feeling more settled since.

I was sent for bloods to check for markers from the appendix. I had a CT to check if there was spreading, a gynae nurse told me it came back clear whilst booking me in for my bloods. Tomorrow they have another meeting and I'll hear a more concrete plan from there.

It's alot. One day at a time.

Hi, It's positive the CT was clear. I'm sorry their suspicions aren't more cushioned. One day at a time is all you can do. I'm sending every positive energy I can to you. Prayers, fingers crossed, the lot. Hoping for the best possible outcome from the tests x

    Look after yourself,

Have you contacted any organisations for support?

    I found macmillan really helpful.

Their nurses helped put everything into context.
