8cm Complex Ovarian Cyst with CA125 of 51 - Absolutely terrified!!

I posted on here a few days ago after I found out unexpectedly that I had a large complex ovarian cyst. The consultant thinks it could a dermoid cyst but can't determine this for sure and is sending me for an MRI scan. In the meantime, my CA125 has come back raised at 51!!! I'm postmenopausal which just adds even more risk into the mix and I just feel like the odds are stacking up against me. I've had no symptoms and only got checked out because of a tiny amount of postmenopausal bleeding. I'm all over the place.

  • Hi all I hope you are all doing ok. Well update for me I have had my histology results from my op on 5th November and nothing was found my ovaries and tubes all healthy just a 15cm dermoid cyst confirmed no abnormalities. I am not 8 weeks post op and back to normal. I cannot fault the NHS for how quickly they dealt with this from end of June 25 to now 6 months of worry supported by this thread. You have all been so kind and helpful whilst being on your own journeys. I wish you all the best for the New Year and hope you are all healing well.

  • Brilliant news! I think we all deserve to have a much better 2026 than 2025! Wishing everyone who has taken the time to share their stories and offer support and advice, a very healthy and happy new year! X

  • Oh fully agreed. I wished away 2025 so I am looking forward to the 1st Jan ticking over!
how have you been? Fully better?
I have had some pains and between period bleeding which has been driving me up the wall. I had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and the ultrasound tech couldn’t find my left ovary (the one they operated on) so I’m not sure where she has gone. Haha. He said nothing to worry about though and I got clear results from a smear test this morning so I think actually it might be scar tissue forming. I’ve no idea. I’m still with the same gynae so she will be in touch but I know I’ve nothing to be too concerned about which I am very grateful for
As you say - roll on 2026! Grateful to you and everyone else for support during a testing year x
