8cm Complex Ovarian Cyst with CA125 of 51 - Absolutely terrified!!

I posted on here a few days ago after I found out unexpectedly that I had a large complex ovarian cyst. The consultant thinks it could a dermoid cyst but can't determine this for sure and is sending me for an MRI scan. In the meantime, my CA125 has come back raised at 51!!! I'm postmenopausal which just adds even more risk into the mix and I just feel like the odds are stacking up against me. I've had no symptoms and only got checked out because of a tiny amount of postmenopausal bleeding. I'm all over the place.

  • Oh, I so hope you get home well tonight! Hospital is a necessary evil at times but so much better to have our creature comforts x

  • Thank you Lyns, that’s actually so helpful to hear because when I have googled I don’t seem to find much about pains after a couple of weeks.
I am very grateful my GP could login somehow to the hospital and see it, as I have been worrying with the symptoms after. she said I should expect a letter in a month or so, so I guess it does show you how slow the admin side of things are. I did think that it was hopefully benign as it was taking so slow but nice to have it confirmed.
the poor nhs is on its knees, I’m so pleased when I read people are still getting great care.

  • Oh good, so glad you are back to normal. Enjoy a good sleep tonight back home x

  • Glad you've finally got some answers. I emailed my doctor's surgery to ask if they had any updates and received a reply to say that they had not received any further correspondence from the hospital since my operation in July! I'm now wondering why it has been marked as "Past" if they haven't even seen my results yet? I was told that if I wanted further information, I'd need to ring the hospital and speak to my consultant's secretary. I'm not overly concerned, but it just seems a bit *** that they can't offer me any info, especially when your GP was able to log into the hospital system and give you an answer there and then! X
