The waiting is agony and it's really affecting me. I'm waking up in a panic throughout the night.
How long do people wait for biopsy results?

Hi Anintruder,
A very warm welcome to our forum.
How did you get on when you saw the consultant? I hope that all went well. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Been told 6 to 8 month's, still not sure or the diagnosis, but there's nothing they can do for me
I called again on Friday which was the 6 week mark. A letter had only just been put on the system which she was able to read to me. It was benign. So I'd definitely say 6-8 weeks seems about average.
The whole process and system is broken and it is disgusting they keep us waiting so long! Dispicable really... no consideration at all or care for mental health! Glad yours was benign.
Over 2 months since I was first referred by a GP who is determined to be proved right at any cost to my mental health for 1 symptom I've had for over 25 years!
It's all disgusting the way we are treated!!!!!!!!!
Hi Postwriter,
I'm delighted to hear that your lesion was benign.
Kind regards,

So glad you got your results and it was benign ️
So sorry I’ve just seen this. I’m sorry it’s not the results that you want to hear. I wish your husband the best for future treatment and sending healing vibes
Hi LexyCee,
Thank you. No, it's not the result that we wanted, but even so, it's easier knowing than waiting on results. They said that it had all been removed in May and that no further treatment is needed. Unfortunately, they also said to keep an eye out for similar lesions, as he has been diagnosed with Bowen's Disease.
I hope that you get your results this week - the waiting is always a worrying time.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
I’ve been waiting nearly 8 weeks for polyp biopsy was told 4-6 weeks and still heard nothing x
I waited a week for my biopsy results and less than a week later started my chemotherapy today, hence still awake!! I would imagine it would depend on where you live for one, what type you have and how busy your hospital is. I am due to be treated in three different hospitals if each course works, chemotherapy, radiotherapy then surgery the second two due to happen at two different hospitals in Cambridge so quite a trip….
