Waiting Biopsy results

Hi everyone

Very new to this site.. it's currently 4:42am and im laid in bed with my mind racing.

I had a sharp burning pain a few week ago coming from my upper outer breast area which made me have a feel around.. i found a lump straight away from the same area. I went to my GP as soon as i got back from my Holiday and got reffered for 2 week wait. I went to my appointment yesterday and i had ultrasound test to which then turned into a mammagram and biopsy.. she did two areas where the lump is and just abover under my armpit.

I then saw the consultant who was not positive at all and told me to start thinking of the worse.

Im 33 years old with a 2 year old and not handling it very good at all. Please can someone talk to me.. give me positive stories or breast cancer.

Or did this similar situation ever happen to anyone before and the results turned out benign? Im thinking of my daughter more than anything, she needs her mummy.

Thank you for taking your time to reply.x

  • Hi GL91. I am sorry to hear you are going through this. I'm 39 and in the same boat with 2 small children. I totally get your fears for your children. I got my biopsy results on 19th April. A 44mm x 38mm grade 1 cancer. I've got my surgery and partial reconstruction booked for Wednesday. The waiting for results is the hardest part. My mind definitely went to the worst place initially. But now I'm trying to keep thinking positive. The power of positive thinking is immense. There is a study that proved thinking of prihannas eating away at the tumour did actually shrink it!  I've kept my mind busy and it's really helped.  X

  • Thank you for your reply. Im sorry your going through this too! I have an appointment this coming Thursday. I do have my letter back from the consultant on the day i was seen. It says lump is 2cm with a subtle ridge like sctructure.

Everything changes when you have young children! I am up and down.. crying just by watching her play etc. I keep thinking why me etc.. it really is awful. But thank you so much for replying.. i have lots of people around me giving me support yet i feel so alone with it all.x
