I'm on the cancer pathway. I had originally been referred as I felt a lump where I thought my ovary was. An ultrasound scan showed a complex mass that wasn't clear if it was a cyst or not - my GP said the report referenced it looking like a bunch of grapes.
My CA 125 was about 100 when it was tested.
I saw the consultant today and he said he didn't think it was cancer. He felt my abdomen and felt internally. He said the lump I felt wasn't the cyst but a lymph node but said this is nothing to worry about. The lump is about 2cm across and hard. He is referring me for am MRI and said this can tell if the cyst is cancer without needing a biopsy.
I felt relieved about what he said but also something has made me feel unsure about what he was saying. Is it usual to have hard lymph nodes with a cyst? And will an MRI be able to diagnose what the mass is alone?
