I am 45, mum of 2. My mum has had bowel cancer, sister had womb cancer, dad had bladder cancer - I lost both my uncles to bowel cancer.
Since having my children, piles has never played nicely with me. Therefore, bleeding is normal at times from the rectum. But I never know whether this is piles or something worse.
Because of my age, I keep being told that I cant get a Bowel screening test as I am not the right age. Is this right?
Due to family history I wish to be checked. My mum had no painful symptons for bowel cancer as she was only picked up through routine checks.
I have tried going onto Bowel Cancer UK and other cancer groups, but I cannot seem to get any assistance. Its not a GP appointment I require at this stage, just wish to eliminate due to history.
