I went to the GP 4 months ago with a new breast lump. Although the lump could be felt, nothing showed up on the ultrasound and i was told it was ‘normal breast tissue’. I was confused by this as the lump was causing me pain.
A month later I asked for a 2nd opinion as the pain worsened. An ultrasound was carried out again, which this time showed a lymph node. I was told there was nothing to worry about as it didn’t look alarming.
Fast forward another month and the lump is constantly painful. I can feel another lump next to the lymph node and am really concerned. Should lymph nodes in breasts be painful foe prolonged periods of time? What could be causing this? If i go back to the GP I'm worried they won’t refer me as I have already been seen by the breast clinic. Equally, i am worried that something may have been missed at the previous ultrasound scan. I have heard that the scans aren’t always accurate.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? I’m just not sure what to do next.
Thanks x
