  • Hi Lisa well I was referred under the 2ww and saw a consultant first. He did a quick camera check and found I have  bowel wall thickening so said I need to have colonoscopy to check. I have other symptoms as well so I’m soooo scared like you. I haven’t got my date yet - was hoping to was by now. Well it’s good you have yours tomorrow - at least you’ll have some answers by tomorrow. It’s horrible though isn’t it - it’s in my mind 24/7 - all I can think of. I’m sure you will be fine. Let me know how you get on. Sending a hug! X

  • Oh bless you, I totally know how you’re feeling! I haven’t been sleeping well due to the worry.
I really hope you get your date soon! It’s a shame you had to see a consultant first as it’s caused you a delay in colonoscopy hasn’t it. I haven’t had to see a consultant, I have gone straight to c olonoscopy.

Thank you, I will let you know how it goes and hopefully I can say they found nothing x

  • I hope the bowel prep is going okay ! X good luck for tomorrow!

  • Hi Rosielee, I’ve had my colonoscopy and got my report. There was no mass found and no evidence of malignancy!!! Phew ‍

I do however have diverticulosis and some inflammation of the end of my large bowel on the right hand side (terminal ileum) which normally points towards Crohn’s disease. They have taken 12 biopsies in total from this area, other random areas along the bowel and also the rectum). I will see a Gasto consultant for the results. I’m just so relieved there is no mass, polyps or anything suspicious.

Fingers crossed you get a good result too, best of luck!
The bowel prep is pretty horrendous though in my opinion, but worth it to get some answers! X

  • Hi I did think about you today and wondered how you got on. I’m so pleased to hear that all went well for you - that’s great news!  I bet you are so relieved! It’s given me a bit of hope now  - I have mine booked for Monday- dreading the prep particularly ! (And the results!) Though like you say - worth it to get some answers. Thanks for letting me know / I’m so pleased for you - keep well! xxxx

  • Aww thank you! I will be thinking of you on Monday and praying you also get good results! keep the faith x

  • How did your bowel prep go.   I had plenvu snd threw up all the second dose so had to cancel my colonoscopy.  I really struggled with it

I’ve not had any info on that yet. Only got my FIT test result back today. Doctors said the hospital should contact me tomorrow or Monday. Completely destroyed by the result and the “ill defined lump in right abdomen”

  • Hi ,I had plenvu and I vomited the whole of the second lot but I still went for the Colonoscopy and it was fine ,I didn't mention it to them .

  • Been quite the rollercoaster since the FIT test. Had the colonoscopy and they had to stop it due to finding something in the distal sigmoid colon. After the scope they said they had taken biopsy and said they were 80% sure it was cancerous as the tumor had ulcerated.

Been an awful few days but finally had the meeting (after MDT) were they said the findings of the biopsy said no cancer was detected.

The consultant didn’t 100% rule out cancer but said it was unlikely. She said it didn’t look cancerous and believes it is more than likely IBD.

Really not sure how I feel. I went into the meeting thinking that. Due to size of tumor that I was being told it was stage 4. Now the biopsy says it is non cancerous and it is mostly down to inflammation. I am obviously happy but also slightly cautious as they didn’t rule it out 100%.
    Anyone else been through this?
