I'd encourage you to speak to your doctor if your symptoms change or you feel further tests are needed. I’m dealing with a situation similar to this. Waited 2 years for an appointment for a sigmoid colonoscopy which couldn’t be done on the day (last week) as they identified a lump which was sinister and had been there for a significant amount of time. Since then I was taken in for biopsy’s and have a CT scan and MRI to be done by Tuesday next week. Hoping the results will be relayed to us quickly. 
mid you are concerned then I would suggest that you discuss it with your gp again.
