Doctors referral says suspected breast cancer

I posted earlier about concerns around Pagets / breast cancer and am struggling to not panic. I have just opened up my doctors app to check my referral letter has been sent and the GP has put me on the urgent 2WW but has written, “suspected breast cancer.”

Now I’m extremely stressed. In this a normal thing for them to write for the two week wait ?

  • I had the same and my heart sank however remember the docs can’t say for sure it is cancer without seeing the appropriate specialist. I’m going to the breast clinic next Monday, my partner was really kind and got me a private ultrasound scan to as I have awful anxiety. The scanner thinks fibroadenoma and it’s very small. My lymph was up but she said she wasn’t worried as there was no blood flow. I’ve also got a stinking cold atm. My point is hopefully the clinic confirms the same as her too and if so that’s benign, So the term suspected cancer was  untrue. They do these referrals to rule out cancer more than diagnose I think x
