Brain Tumour symptoms

Hi

I’ll start off by stating that I have really bad health anxiety, hence why I’m on here :(

Two weeks ago I started with a headache whilst at work. I didn’t think much of it as I had recently started a diet and thought maybe it was sugar/caffeine withdrawal. Painkillers helped to ease it but once these started to wear off, it came back. The following Saturday I admitted myself to A&E as the headache was persistent and I had started to feel flushed and faint also.

I was seen by neurology who did the standard tests and said all my observations were fine. One of the doctors mentioned an MRI but this was not done and I was given migraine tablets to take away with me.

That night, I woke with a really bad headache and my whole body was shaking/vibrating uncontrollably so I rung 111 for advice.
I spoke to the out of hours GP who made me an appointment with my own GP who I saw later that day. He prescribed me anti depressants and referred me for a head MRI but said he wasn’t concerned.

This was a week ago, I am still getting the headaches and have pins and needles in my left hand that sometimes spread up my arm. I have woke up a number of times to pins and needles down my left side also. After searching online, I have seen that these can all be side effects of the anti depressant but I am convinced I have a brain tumour.

also, to add, for the past couple of years I have had episodes of dizziness/vertigo with no apparent reason.

I don’t know why I’m reaching out on here…I suppose in the hope that someone else has experienced these things and they have turned out to be harmless and just anxiety.

I just want this MRI appointment to come through, I’m sick with worry!
for reference I’m 35 F

  • Hello Tasha89,

Please can I ask what your outcome was? I am going through the same thing as you, getting headaches, pins and needles in my left hand/arm, twitching eyelids, and also been experiencing dizzyness/vertigo for the last 2 and a half months now which came on all of a sudden at work one day and hasn't gone since.

I just wanted to see what your outcome was really? As ive had so many blood tests, heart scans/monitor fitted, ecgs and other tests. They also put me on anti depressants which I stopped taking after 2 days as it made me feel so anxious. (I also suffer from health anxiety)

Im currently on vertigo tablets that are helping a little but still get daily symptoms which I am also convinced I have a brain tumor, which the doctor is trying to reassure me he doesnt think its that.
