Bleeding after intercourse and polyp and thickening of lining, waiting to go for hysterscopy.
Anyone else been through this and is it always cancer?

Hi Hattie65,
Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope it's not too long to wait for your appointment and that you're getting on OK.
It's not possible to say at this point what is going on, prior to any tests that may be needed. Try to keep busy while you wait and take things a day at a time.
In the meantime, if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully you'll get some more replies soon.
Wishing you all the best,
Ben

Hi hope your doing ok, I’m looking for information similar to yours and searching this site
My smear results has come back with high risk HPV and med risk cell changes these have arrived today this on the back of finding out yesterday I have a dilated and swollen left fallopian tube that has blood inside and blood around the ovary and also durning a pelvic scan the womb lining was to advanced for the time of the monthly cycle and would suggest polyps
I’ve been put on a wsitting by list for laparoscopy investigation but I’m worrying my self sick that everything added together would mean cancer
Hi Hattie65,
sorry to hear you are going through this. I too am waiting on a Hysteroscopy so understand your anxiousness.
I have spotting, additional bleeding and thickened lining too. I already have the minera coil fitted. If it offers you any comfort I was informed that its could be a number of things causing my symptoms. Polyps, fibroids, hormone imbalance and yes cancer - but I am seeing that as a possibility within many other slightly less scary ones. The Hysteroscopy is being done to make sure they can establish which and how to move forward.
I hope your wait isn’t long and do keep us posted.
Hi Hattie65, I hope you are doing well.
Just wondering if you had your hysteroscopy and how it went.
I had a laparotomy surgery for ovarian cancer in December 2023 during which they found a polyp in my womb. Later on the biopsy confirmed it was cancer and I was diagnosed with Womb cancer Stage 1A grade 1. My doctor put me on hormonal therapy as I want to preserve my fertility and he inserted a mirena IUD as well.
Furthermore, I will have a hysteroscopy/biopsy every 3 months to make sure the treatment is effective. My hysteroscopy is planned for the 22nd of Avril which I am scared of.
I would be grateful for any information you provide Xx
Hi, I had a general anaesthetic, which I would definitely recommend for polypectomy, I only had slight spotting for a couple of days afterwards and minimal pain. I honestly wouldn't worry about having hysterscopy. Good luck x
Thanks for the info x My hysteroscopy will be with general anaesthesia as well
