Hello,
I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago as I felt a lump in my right breast. I was referred to the breast clinic where I had an examination - during which I was told it was probably a cyst and that I'd only get an ultrasound due to being 39. At the ultrasound I always again told it was just a cyst but they would give me a mammogram anyway because I'm almost 40. I was told that I'd be called i to see the consultant and discuss the results however while I was in the waiting room I was then called back in for an ultrasound as they had found something in my left breast, it all happened very quickly and I had an ultrasound guided core biopsy where they took 4 clips from the area and put a clip inside to mark where they had taken the biopsy from. I was told I'd get results in 2-3 weeks, do anyone know why they would do a core biopsy and send it off? I have ready that they only send it off for testing if it is suspicious or doesn't look right when they take fluid? I am so confused and scared and the waiting is so nerve wracking, is my first time experiencing anything like this and I don't know what to think.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all xx
