Fast track referral! Really frightened!

Hi everyone I’m just searching for some advice or ways to manage. I’m a carer to my daughter and a single parent so my days are quite stressful. I noticed a small white lump on my tonsil along with globus sensation a few days ago. My doctor didn’t ask much questions and has referred me to ENT for suspected cancer.
I am going out my mind with worry and finding it hard to function and sleep. The wait is anxiety provoking and making me feel ill.
thanks in advance for any help

  • Hi poppyfive34,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand you are feeling worried about this - this is of course natural as it's never easy dealing with such uncertainty and also waiting for appointments.

Try not to assume anything at this point - the referral is good as it means you will get the answers you need before long, and it's good to hear that the doctor is being thorough.

Try to focus on other things as much as possible, and take things a day at a time, or less if it helps.

I hope you're able to hear more soon, and if others here have similar experience or advice to offer then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
