Colonoscopy

Hi All my husband had colonoscopy after positive FIT Sunday and consultant took him and I into side room and mentioned diverticulitis and a polyp taken biopsy and the area of concern bottom of rectum an ulcer type swelling. Images and biopsies taken. Told us MRI and CT to be done asap to rule out anything else. Very worrying. Mentioned needs to be removed whatever it is after meeting of the results. 2 week wait for biopsy results. Is all this normal the C word wasn’t mentioned just area of concern.

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. It sounds like they are being thorough and it's good to hear you don't have too long to wait to find out more.

    It is normal to do any necessary investigations to get answers or rule things out, as you say.

    I hope that the wait doesn't feel too long - I know this kind of uncertainty can be difficult to deal with. Try to keep busy while you wait, and in the meantime hopefully you'll get some more replies here - we're always here if you need it.
