Hello, I’m new to the group,
Could someone please let me know if you’ve been through anything similar?
For weeks I had blood in my stool, so I eventually went to see my GP who asked me to do a Fit Test and he also took bloods. My Fit was positive and my bloods showed that I was B12 anaemic which explained my fatigue. I was sent on a 2WW colonoscopy referral (took Plenvu and it was vile!!). My colonoscopy came back clear and the 6 biopsies she took showed no change in cells which was great news.
She advised she wanted to send me for a CT scan to see if anything else was going on as my abdomen was swelled. A week after my scan the colorectal consultant rang to say all was good from his side but I do have gallstones and an enlarged uterus of which he was referring me to gynaecology for. He told me the wait might be up to 14 weeks as that department was extra busy.
1 week later (last week) the booking office rang saying they’d received my CT scan and could I come in next Thursday for a colposcopy. I’m clearly worried as they have booked me in quite quickly. The colorectal consultant would tell me what he thought had caused it as it’s not his area of expertise.
I have no vaginal bleeding as I am on the contraceptive pill where you don’t take a break so haven’t had a period in years. I’m 53 in November so don’t even know if I’m peri menopausal at the moment…..
Normally you’d have a colposcopy first then a CT scan so I’m the other way round. Do you think they’ve found something serious or am I worrying over nothing? Thank you
