A doctor may refer you for investigations, but no doctor should tell you that you have cancer until investigations have given a diagnosis whether it be good or scary. All I can do is encourage you to try to be seen by as GP and to wish you all the best.

Hi yes its very scary taking yourself to the Docs to get checked out but eventually you will have to go otherwise your mind will be continually be thinking about it and it will drive you mad ,the best thing you can do is to make that appointment knowing that you are doing something about it will make you feel better whatever the outcome ,if Doctors suspect something could be wrong they will tell you and then make arrangements to get you sorted out ,as Mary said the Doctor can't tell you you have cancer because he doesn't know that but he will refer you to someone who will know ,make that appointment most people on here have had to do that and most don't get diagnosed with cancer .

That's a really good thing for them to say and its very true ,I remember getting the fone call from my GP surgery it wasn't a Doctor it was an advanced nurse and he did say I've already set the ball rolling for an urgent  referral because your test results make us suspect Ovarian cancer ,I never heard anything else I just burst out crying and sobbing and  rang my hubby at work ,thankfully after more tests it showed something much less serious .

Some need training in what to say and how to say it!
