Hi,Id just like to share my experiences that ive been through over the last few weeks for the benefit of people who are going through the same thing.
I had a fit test done as my iron is none existent. It took about a week for the results to come back. I had a telephone appointment booked with my doctor but it got cancelled, then I was asked to go and see my doctor the next day. Everyone in the surgery was being exceptionally nice and then I found out why. My fit score has come back and it is extremely high. Then silence…..my doctors face said everything. I have bowel cancer. Then the tears came. Both the doctor and I were in tears. She confirmed what I had been dreading. I told my family and my sister didn’t believe me. That was a kick in the teeth. All because I hadn’t had a colonoscopy to confirm it. So I get a very quick appointment for the colonoscopy. The pack comes through the post with a drink that I know is not going to be very nice. I had the movie prep and my abdomen swelled up so much I looked 9 months pregnant! No bowel movement at all. The only way I can describe it is that my bowel was paralysed. So my first appointment had to be cancelled. Second appointment had to be cancelled due to plenvu doing exactly the same. Third appointment is on Friday and I’ve got Piccolax this time. I know it won’t work but I’m going to the appointment at 10.00 and I’m not leaving till someone does something. This has been going on for nearly 2 months now. I’m scared that the cancer is growing and there might be nothing they can do to help me.
