Firm lump found

Okay so long post after finding another lump and scared beyond belief! Wanted to see if anyone else on here is on the same position or can offer advice or support please to stop me turning grey with worry. So 8 days after my period I noticed a small firm lump in the upper inner area of my right breast. Got it checked out and the nurse also felt the lump so the fast track referral came my way for 11th Sept. The worry on my mind and panic I've ended up booking private for a breast consultation with Nuffield and went today. Whilst he wasn't hugely concerned he has referred me for an ultrasound on Wednesday because he could also feel what he said was either muscle infront of my rib leading to it stick out, or a cyst. He told me not to worry as if didnt feel it was a suspicious lump.  I

However my mind 0-million in that brief chat and googling breast cysts makes me paranoid incase it's a suspicious cyst. I've read on doctor Google the varying ones and some are the big C word and pr ing it's just a normal simple cyst if that's what it is.

Bit of background on the same breast. I had the same location checked in 2017in breast unit from fast track referral. Although the nurse couldn't feel anything she described as sinister, I insisted on a scan. The girl scanning did see something but said it fitted in with what the nurse told me about hormonal cysts. It wasn't ever checked though and now on my mind again. Arrragghh..

  • Hi Cath,

Many thanks for the update. I sincerely hope that what the nurse told you today and that all is ok. Try to keep yourself busy for the next few days - this should help to take your mind off the wait.

Please don't forget to let us know the outcome.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you Jolamine.

I will definatley update as soon as the results are back. Thank you for replying and for being on here to support everyone going through these tests and waiting. It's all very scary and constantly in my mind but very lucky we have access to such testing. Hope you are well Jolamine. :)

  • Hi Cath,

As I'm sure you know from last time, this is always a worrying time, but worry doesn't change anything. Try to hold on to what you were told today and hopefully, you'll have a good outcome.

Thank you for asking about me. I am fortunate enough to be 14 years down the line, from 2 bouts of breast cancer and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • 14 years down the line and twice been through cancer. Wow you are incredible Jolmaine living life to the full strong and kicking butt! Well done you for enjoying life and being inspirational for all oing through this with your positivity. Thank you for being on here xx

I will post an update end of next week. I saw images of the needle going through the lump as I was a bit worried incase they didn't get enough cells etc. They took 3 lots and went in deep and take photos during the procedure which I wasn't aware of until they showed me afterwards. This I felt was reassuring they got what they needed.

  • Thanks for the update fingers crossed for your results next week x

  • Thank you Lenell84. Hope you are OK. X

  • Hi Cath,

They are usually pretty thorough with tests and biopsies. They will have used the US images to locate any tissue that could be suspect, so they're usually spot on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Update!!!!

I just wanted to update everyone and share how lucky I am getting the all clear yesterday! Thankfully both biopsies taken contained normal cells and the doctor who called me said its just Fribomous tissues if that's how you spell it ?? Normal breast changes for my age in normal lamgugae for people like me who need to google these conditions/diagnoses words.

My lump is firm fixed close to my rib cage and ultrasound sonographer wasnt sure what it was .

So there is hope that all hard fixed lumps are not anything serious!

Thank you everyone qho replied on my thread and I hope and pray anyone else going through this horrible time of waiting and worry gets positive news too. I wish we all could. Xxxxxxx

  • That’s brilliant news you can de-stress now and get on with things. Thanks for letting us know :) xxx

  • Hi Cath,

Many thanks for the update. I am absolutely delighted that you got the all clear - I can almost feel your relief from here. Now you can get back to living life to the fullest.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
