13 year old possible lymphoma

Hi,  about 3 months ago I noticed 2 lumps on the side of my 13 year old sons neck,  bloods were taken and all clear, doctor wasn't concerned so left it at that.

Fast forward 2 months later and I found 3 more lumps, one on the same side and 2 on the other.  Back to doctor, bloods repeated and again normal.

After many phone calls and pushing, took him back again this morning and different doctor was much more concerned, also noting one large swollen tonsil.  I'm guilty of googling and know this is a bad sign.  2 week rapid referral made to paeds for further investigation.

Doctor said the lymphnodes don't feel like typical hard cancer lumps but there's no way of knowing without further testing.  My son feels fine in himself, no night sweats or weightloss etc.

I'm.trying to stay positive but months of swollen lymphnodes and one enlarged tonsil is really really worrying me. I can't think about anything else.

Has anyone else had these symptoms and it been ok?   Everything I read says these symptoms combined usually a red.flag for cancer and I'm terrified!

  • Just wanted to come on and say I suffered with tonsil problems for 4 months at the beginning of this year and was convinced I had something sinister as antibiotics would get rid of my tonsilities. But return after the course. Went through ENT had blood tests and mri of the neck with contrast and it all came back clear turns out I just had a very bad case of strep/tonsilites and just needed stronger antibiotics and steroids to clear it up and ain’t had any problems since July.
