Hi Fallmare,
I'm sorry to hear that you are still waiting for scan results. Can I ask how long this has been?
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Good morning jolamine. Its 7 weeks today.
I rang the hospital last Tuesday and apparently I was being discussed the next day. And still nothing.
Also been in touch with pals and nothing.
Thanks for asking xx
Hi Fallmare,
If you were being discussed last Wednesday, you should have been contacted by now. It is disappointing to hear that PALS hasn't been in touch with you yet. Why not phone your consultant's secretary again and ask what the delay is now? I hope that they can tell you something by now.
Please let us know how you get on.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi I had mri on 3rd July and have had to chase information. I called the secretary in the 3rd week who said a letter was on the way but that I was to be discussed at an MDT meeting and they only meet on Fridays. With the strikes I have rang again to find out when I can expect to hear and now I've been informed consultant is on 2 weeks leave and the difficulties of putting a mdt together. I was initially sent on a 2ww refral with suspected ovarian cancer. My GPS have been great and talked me though the mri results in the absence of consultant appointment, which shows previous endometriosis and the mass on my ovaries as doubled in size from initial scan and still can't be determined as cancer or not. however as I've still not heard from consultant I've spoken to his secretary who said he hasn't marked me as urgent for the MDT meeting so I'm now 8 weeks in from initial scan with no clue as to when I might be seen again. Feeling very upset disappointed and let down by the lack of communication to manage waiting time expectations.
So in answer to you question Fallmare, yes!
Hi june06
I finally got my results on Friday 7.5 weeks.
Absolutely awful.
I'm emailing pals today because I know nothing of how many cysts I have. What they are called. How dilated is my duct now.
Yes communication is just horrendous.
Makes you even more anxious .
But if he's marked it non urgent I'd presume that's a good thing x
Glad you have results and can move forward.
I feel I am losing confidence in the system now. I've been reading about the 28 day FDS, where you should have some communication to either have diagnosis or rule it out and I have neither. I'm in the same situation as so many , to be at square one seven weeks in.
I am positive however the lack of communication increases anxiety so much and have coped well for 6 weeks in anticipation of a diagnosis but with no deadline in sight I feel it harder to keep the skip in my step I had before.
Good luck with pals. Be interested to know how you get on.
I’m afraid it’s a postcode lottery. I recently had a routine CT scan at a Cancer Centre on a Friday and they scheduled a call from my consultant for the following Friday. The local general hospital has long waits which is why the CC stopped sending patients there - I was happy to drive 20 miles further for a quicker result.
Keep chasing them - they ought to plan ahead for Summer holidays - they happen every year!
Good luck.

I’m afraid 2015 was the last time the majority of Trusts routinely met cancer waiting time targets. The government did try to remove them at one stage arguing they were outdated - though when in opposition they highlighted every (then rare) breach by individual Trusts.
Hi Fallmare,
I am delighted to hear that you have at long last got your results. As Dave said, there should be contingencies for holiday cover, as they are a regular occurrence. What was the outcome? Is it just cysts? - I do hope so.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi jolamine
Thankyou for your nice message.
So all the letter said was no changes, repeat scan in a year.
The thing is I'm going to request a copy of the report because last year the letter said CYSTS but this letter said CYST.
So what is it?
I feel I should know what they are and how big?
Because being a severe anxiety sufferer and its on my notes 7 5 weeks is awful xx
