Hi!
New here but feeling a tad deflated so wondering if anyone else has had the same experience as me?
I was referred under the 2WW and gp told me I'd have a breast ultrasound (under 30, just) . Unfortunately the appointment offered was when I was on holiday but they sorted me another appointment for the day after I got home! Excellent, today I went to the appointment expecting a scan, but I just had a consultation and someone felt it, noted some stuff down, said she agrees with the GP and there's a area of thickening , and said she'd order a scan within 2 weeks? Is this normal? Just feels horrible having to wait another two weeks for a scan. I know it's probably not cancer, but my partner lost his mum to cancer as a teen so it's a huge fear tbh.
background: I had pain in a certain area of my left breast on and off for a few months but now it's achey constantly and sharp stabbing pains if it's pushed on or touched etc, I wasn't sure if I could feel any lumps because I have sensory issues and honestly, hate touching and feeling gp said she can feel a area of thickening. As did today's specialist. I'm faithful as I know most breast cancers won't cause any pain, but just not having the awnsers and having to wait two more weeks doesn't feel great, does the lack of imediate scan say they aren't worried?
sorry for the long message
