I've just come back from my doctor who said I have a raised CA125 of 48. I have a history of cysts and fibroids, have had regular cervical screening and a thourough scan in April 2022 (I know it is out of date now) which showed the cysts and fibroids and the endometrial lining being at 8mm.

Doctor has put me on the 2 week cancer pathway for a scan and I am really worried. I'm 49 and have always had heavy, painful periods. I went to the doctor because of spotting.  I have always had bloating usually around the time of my period. I have no other symptoms of ovarian cancer. I'm not losing weight, the internal exam today was fine - healthy looking cervix and no pain on examination, no abdominal fluid or masses detected.

But what if??? I am feeling very tearful, worried and not very positive at all. How worried should I be with a reading of 48
