Hi, I'm sorry that you find yourself here after finding a lump and I do hope it turns out to be a cyst or FA. I know it's impossible not to feel scared and worried as I've been there. Just try to keep busy and distracted if you can; going for a nice walk can really help with anxiety and difficulty sleeping, appetite, etc. We're all here for you and hope it's good news for you tomorrow. I hope your appointment goes well. I have a mammogram booked for Friday at 12.00 and I'm not sure how to cope between now and then as I am crippled with anxiety! It will have only been a week since I saw the GP and got an appointment so really quick, but I don't seem to be able to cope with the wait.

I've discovered that if I keep super busy, I'm fine but it is sitting down and working from a computer where fear becomes overwhelming- which is probably how I have just ended up here! Better than Dr Google...

Keeping busy is the best way to survive this awful wait. You are far better sticking to the respected sites, like this. Consulting 'Dr Google' will only scare you even further and serve no useful purpose.

You are fortunate that you have got your appointment through so quickly, as some people are waiting up to 3 weeks to be seen. Not all lumps are sinister. Many turn out to be benign lumps or fibroadenoma. It is a fact that out of every 19 who attend the breast clinic, only 2 will get a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are still on your side.

Those stats are positively in my favour, so that does help, thank you. You are right though, the waiting is the worst, at least after diagnosis I will know where I stand and what to do. I am very grateful that my appointment is only 8 days after I saw the GP, they don't mess around when it comesd to boobs!

You normally get an appointment at the breast clinic within 2 weeks from the date of referral. All of the initial tests are usually carried out at your first clinic appointment and it usually takes anything from 1 -3 weeks to get your biopsy results. It is always worth asking when you can expect your results to be back,  at the time of your biopsy.

Hi everyone, so the diagnosis is... a low placed lymph node! The "lump" was indeed my lymph, but not in the usual place so they GP natuarally thought it was a lump. They scanned me and confirmed that there is indeed no lump there, and just the lymph. A lower lymph is nothing to be concerned about they said, note super common, but not unheard of.

They discharged me and gave me a very useful leaflet about managing breast pain - I will still have to go back to the GP as there is something causing the pain and the pins and needles.

Love and strength to anyone going through the agonising wait, and thank you to everyone who checked in and sent their positive vibes. I am very grateful xx
